Hideaway Empire is proposed for 63130 Lancaster Street in Bend, according to a liquor license application. The space was formerly occupied by The Backyard, a now-closed pizzeria and sports bar.

Hideaway Empire is from the team behind The Hideaway Tavern, which has a location in Bend at 939 SE 2nd Street and in Redmond at 507 SW 8th Street. There is also a sister restaurant in bend called The Victorian Café, known for its breakfast and brunch.

The family-friendly sports bar is described as “Bend’s best north-side location for food and sports – where Food Network meets ESPN.” The menu includes shareable dishes like tempura mushrooms, buffalo cauliflower, mini corn dogs and Bavarian pretzel fondue, as well as burgers, sandwiches, pizza, chili and more. They also serve rotating taps of beer and signature cocktails.

Hideaway Empire is expected to open this fall. It will be located in the same one-story building as Wild Roots Coffeehouse.
