According to a recent permit filing, Del Lupo is slated to open in the Westmoreland area at 1613 SE Bybee Blvd.

A representative of Del Lupo did not immediately respond to What Now Portland’s request for comment.

While an official opening date and Del Lupo’s specific offerings have not yet been confirmed, the co-owner of Montelupo Italian Market, Blake Kusler, will be behind Del Lupo as well. Described as providing everything from ready-to-eat antipasti to delectable desserts and artisanal cocktails, Montelupo offers everything you need to create a custom Italian feast in the comfort of your own home.

According to an article from Portland Mercury in 2020, as you walk into the market, you’ll be met with the sight of two large, enticing grab-and-go cold cases. The first cooler boasts a tempting selection of antipasti, soups, and take-and-bake pasta, perfectly portioned for two. The second cooler houses an array of delightful cocktails and desserts like the luscious olive oil cake, creamy budino, classic tiramisu, and the signature Italian Flag (also known as Rainbow or Tri-Color) cookies, all crafted with love by Giulietti’s Italian Bakery.

Montelupo’s cocktail-to-go program is described as a standout feature of the market. Initially beginning with the Italian classic Negroni, the program has since expanded to include other favorites like the Manhattan and Sazerac. Currently, visitors can choose from a carefully curated lineup of five drinks, all meticulously created by the talented bar manager, Eddie Riddell.

Blake wanted to keep things straightforward yet delightful, maintaining a connection between the cocktails and the culinary experience. While traditionally seen as pre-dinner drinks, these libations have been thoughtfully paired to complement the various food offerings, making them equally enjoyable during meals.
