A representative of Wellspent Market was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Portland’s request.

According to a recent Instagram post from Wellspent, it looks like this will be a move for the market instead of an expansion. At the time of this article, Wellspent’s last day at its previous location on Couch Street was two days ago.

“Our new home is pretty special: when it was built over 100 years ago, it was the neighborhood general store. We’re thrilled to return this historic building to its original use. Plus, our pals Fulamingo are coming with us, so you can expect the same amazing assortment of Japanese snacks, pantry ingredients, and sake as we’ve always had.”

“The same goes for our homewares section, featuring handmade and vintage goods from our friends The Davis Company plus seeds, ‘zines, and other great stuff from the Culinary Breeding Network. The new space offers some other perks: outside seating, room for more local produce, and space for our expanding deli program (have you tried our new sandwiches?).”

According to Wellspent Market’s website, three people are behind the operation. Those three people are Joe Dixon (the founder), Noah Cable (co-owner and director of operations), and Joe Dixon (buyer and the founder’s son).
