A representative of Bar Loon was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official opening date has yet to be released, according to an article from Bridgetown Bites, “According to Bar Loon’s Instagram, they will offer wine, cocktails, and dinner. They’re not sharing much in the way of content there aside from some illustrations and photos of natural places and flora.”

“They’ll be open daily: 4 pm to 11 pm Monday to Friday, and noon to 11 pm on the weekends. Sweet Hereafter was a Lightning Bar Collective property and this location will remain so with Bar Loon. This bar is not to be confused with Loon, a bar that was open on SE Division that closed in 2016.”

“The folks behind Bar Loon, aside from Liam Duffy and John Janulis, owners of Lightning Bar Collective, include Ansel Vickery (previously at Bellwether Bar near Mt Tabor), Marisa Howard (a local jeweler), Ian Davis, and Mark McDermott. This is all according to filed paperwork with the state.”

According to the Lightning Bar Collective’s website, under the collective are eight spots in the Portland metro, including Sweet Hereafter. The other concepts are Century, The Bye and Bye, Victoria, Associated, Jackknife, Thunderbird, and Villa Royale.
