A representative of Takibi was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Portland’s request.

According to a recent Instagram post from Takibi, “We are excited to announce that Takibi will return in September with a new team and a new menu. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon!”

Takibi’s Instagram biography section says that the concept will be “comforting Japanese food cooked on a wood-fire grill from Snow Peak USA. Ramen of Niigata cart is coming fall of 2024.” For those who are unfamiliar, Snow Peak USA is a Japanese camping brand that was founded in 1958.

Snow Peak’s website describes Takibi further, stating, “Takibi is inspired by Japan, the changing seasons, and the bonds built while gathering by the fire. Located in Snow Peak’s US headquarters, Takibi features an open-concept interior with warm wood tones, greenery, and natural light. The expansive patio is surrounded by foliage and covered for year-round outdoor dining.”

The Bridgetown Bites article that was previously mentioned states, “After a fire in January, Takibi, and Izakaya, had to close for repairs. Fast forward seven-and-a-half months, and they are returning.”
