A representative of Popeyes was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

According to the Portland Eater article, “A Central Eastside building at 1525 SE Grand Avenue which formerly housed a Burger King location and has sat vacant for years will become a Popeyes restaurant in 2024, the Oregonian reports. The building was damaged by a fire in June 2020.”

“Vancouver-based franchisee Ambrosia QSR, which operates over 200 fast-food locations, including Popeyes, Burger King, and Arby’s, has filed permits to operate Popeyes at the location. “We hope to be open for business sometime in 2024, but it’s hard to be any more specific this far out,” Ambrosia QSR CEO Luke Pisors told the Oregonian.”

The Oregonian article dives in a bit further, stating, “Popeyes already has a dozen locations in the Portland area serving its fried chicken and popular chicken sandwiches. A “Coming Soon” sign at the Grand Avenue location has already attracted a good deal of attention and speculation online.”

According to Ambrosia QSR’s company website, “Ambrosia QSR is based in the Pacific Northwest, and growing from there. Our Support Center is in Vancouver WA, and our restaurants are primarily located across central and western Washington and Oregon, with a presence in western Idaho and southern California as well.”

“Leading Ambrosia QSR as President and CEO is Luke Pisors. After 30 years in the restaurant business, previously as SVP of Operations with Arby’s, Luke believes strongly in the power of an organization’s culture as the foundation upon which growth occurs.”

“That growth must begin at the individual, then the organizational level, and then impact the guest experience, before it translates to growing sales and profits. After growing up in Wisconsin and living throughout the eastern half of the US during his career, Luke maintains an allegiance to the Green Bay Packers despite enjoying living in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and daughter,” the website states.
